Abstract

        This research aims mainly at clarifying the roles assigned to consumer protection associations, and analyzing the reality of these associations by highlighting the space they have under the current law for consumer protection and the suppression of fraud 09-03. We also seek to explore the horizons of consumer protection associations in light of economic and social developments and the diversity of products, the expansion of means of communication and social media and their role in achieving the desired role of the Consumer Protection Associations.

This study concluded with a number of results. Though the importance that the Algerian legislator gave to consumer protection associations by organizing them and imposing the character of the public interest on their activities and enabling them to have the right to legal aid. However, he should pay more attention to them and continue to empower them by supporting them financially, and striving towards embodying the idea of ​​collective agreements in the field of consumption, as is the case in the world of work to get rid of the claim of removing arbitrary conditions, following the example of the French legislator in this field.
