Imam Ibrāhīm ibn ʿUmar Bayyūḍ is considered one of the modern Algerian famous personalities who contributed to the religious, social and educational reform before and after Algeria's independence. He took a distinctive approach to change and renewal, which included da'wah (Inviting people to moderate Islam) and education, fighting ignorance, backwardness, bid'ah (innovation in religious matters), corruption, correcting outdated ideas and customs. Moreover, guiding people to Islamic values to be embodied in the behavior of the individual and society, though benefit from the developments of civilization and employ them in solving the problems of the nation, and ijtihad in fiqh of Contemporary Issues. So he was a reference in the fatwa and reform, he also contributed to the convergence between the followers of the Ibadi and Maliki, and called for the renunciation of controversy and sectarian intolerance, he made the mosque and Al Hayat institute a pla]ce to call, and employed the Quran and the Sunna in his style and address the issues of reality, and thanks to this, a group of scientists, writers, thinkers, and reformers have graduated to contribute to the renaissance of their communities, and thus emerged a new society which can be described as the Community of the Mosque.
