Evaluation the Microfinance industry performance in the Arab region in light of international indicators

This paper aims to evaluate the Microfinance industry performance in the Arab region in light of international indicators. It focuses on studying some important indicators related to the performance and structure of microfinance institutions in the Arab region, especially by studying of the loans collections efficiency indicators, as well as the profitability indicators and financial sustainability in the microfinance institutions, with analysing of the efficiency and productivity levels of microfinance institutions in the Arab region during the last period compared to the international indicators for the microfinance industry.
Through the results of research, The Microfinance in Arab regions is smaller market than in other regions. Despite of the low of operational efficiency and high lending costs, the MFIs in the Arab regions continues to show acceptable performance ratios.
