The Chinese Commercial and Investment Projects in Algeria: What are the developmental effects in supporting and diversifying the national economy?

Abstract

This study focuses on the Chinese commercial and investment projects in Algeria. It shows the reality of trade and investment cooperation between China and Algeria, the areas and mechanisms of trade and investment cooperation between them, especially in the context of the Economic Belt Initiative for the twenty-first century, as well as the importance of diversifying the areas of investment outside the Hydrocarbons sector. These investment needs to be bolstered, especially from the Chinese side, which has historical economic, strategic and even political ties with Algeria to the extent that makes it an imperative for Algeria to benefit from these Chinese investments and work hard to diversify them in order to support its development course and diversify its national economy.
