This study addresses the 2016 Algerian constitutional amendment and its impact on women's political participation. It represented a turning point in consolidating the principle of equality and non-discrimination between genders. Through Articles 31 bis (2008) and 36 (2016), the constitution affirmed the state's commitment to promoting women's political representation and ensuring equality in the labor market. The research also highlights both internal and international contexts that led to this amendment, particularly under the pressure of the popular movement and international obligations (CEDAW). Despite legal advancements, social, cultural, and institutional challenges continue to hinder the full implementation of these provisions. The study also shed light on the role of political parties, public policies, and the importance of changing prevailing mindsets. Although there has been notable progress in women's representation, advancement remains gradual and requires strategic future visions to ensure effective and sustainable participation of women in political life.
