The Algerian legislature has regulated the weekend according to the principle of sovereignty, determining its duration. Friday is considered the appropriate day, given the dimensions and objectives it serves and the aspirations of all members of society.
This research aims to highlight the foundations adopted in the legislation of Friday as the weekend, its sovereign nature, its development, the criteria for its selection, the social dimensions it achieves, and the provisions related to it, this research, particularly since it is also considered a rest day under normal circumstances, allowing for time off from study and work in its various forms and forms, presents a challenge for the legislature to issue a legal system specific to it and not just regulate it.
