This study focuses on the legal system applicable to internet service providers. They are essential to the operation and management of internet activity and serve as a link between the network and its users, ensuring the provision of various client needs. Therefore, they are subject to several legislations, including the Algerian legislation. This can be observed in Law 04-09, which regulates them and includes specific provisions aimed at preventing and fighting crimes related to information technology and communication. This topic aims to explore the legal provisions and guidelines governing internet service providers and their responsibilities toward their clients under this law.
The study has yielded a number of results, the foremost among which is that the Algerian legislator has been unable to fully address the legal aspects of Internet service providers, particularly since he has not differentiated between them in terms of criminal liability within the limits of their involvement in providing Internet services.
