The phenomenal spread of modern technologies led to the birth of e-commerce, which stems from the interaction between communication technology and information technology. Business transactions are now conducted in a matter of minutes through an e-commerce portal in the age of information and can be concluded with just a press of a computer button. As a result of the ease and convenience of conducting electronic contracts, e-commerce has gained immense popularity in recent times and has become one of the main pillars of the digital economy. With the increasing volume of e-commerce and ongoing development, it is necessary to find ways to protect this mode of commerce and establish legal rules to regulate it.
This research paper focuses on the conceptual aspects of e-commerce and the extent to which Algerian legislation recognizes this mode of trade.
